Request for Services - Website Code Audit

Journalism for Change is seeking an experienced developer(s) to conduct an audit of the code on our Iranwire.com news and information platform.

Specifically, the individual(s) will:

  • Review the website code and architecture and highlight general weaknesses that affect stability, security, loading speed, user experience, and searchability

  • Propose solutions to optimize the website with an understanding that its primary audience is accessing via mobile while facing cost and connection issues

  • The review shall include reviews of and proposed solutions for:

    • Data storage and archiving

    • SEO, including errors received from GSC

    • Website connections with servers and CDNs, including loading speed tests and pressure tests with various traffic loads/requests from different locations (Middle East, EU, USA primarily).

    • Server and CDN design

    • General architecture/code structure 

The ideal candidate(s) will have:

  • Proficiency in Python and experience developing websites with Django 

  • Experience conducting audits of website code for interal or external clients

  • Experience in network design and server maintenance

  • Degree in computer science, related fields, or equivalent experience.
